Ik ben net klaar met het toevoegen van categorie plaatjes bij de nieuwsberichten, zoals je rechts van de titels ziet. Bij ieder nieuwsbericht staat nu dus zo’n plaatje zodat het makkelijker te zien is in welke categorie (zoals Instant Star, Artikelen, etc.) een nieuwsbericht hoort. Handig toch?

Er staat ook weer een nieuwe poll online (zoals gewoonlijk aan de rechterkant na een beetje scrollen) met de vraag: Wat vond jij van het einde van Jude en Tommy in Instant Star 4?
Dus snel naar die poll en stemmen maar!

Omdat ik vandaag was begonnen met het typen en het vertalen van de podcast voor Chaima, heb ik er maar meteen een hele nieuwe pagina van Always Alexz voor gemaakt, vertaalde interviews! Aan de sidebar links bij Alexz Johnson -> Vertaalde interviews kun je de interviews vinden.

Op Instant-starz6 zijn nieuwe stukjes van ‘What Rock Have I/You Been Under’ gepost. De ene is een stukje van de demo, de andere is een studio-opname. Klik hier om naar Instant-starz6 te gaan.

Op het forum van de site van Instant Star werd gevraagd wat de favoriete Instant Star liedjes van de ExecProducer zijn. Hij gaf hierbij een heel uitgebreid antwoord (en noemde zo ongeveer alle liedjes op, haha):
Wow, what a question… I have so many favourites. What I always remember about the songs is the first time that we hear them, usually over a BBQ with all the songwriters and scriptwriters, at the end of a week when the songwriters have been working all week. The very first songwriting camp we held, Liar Liar was created that week and just blew me away, so it’s got a special place in my heart. And when I heard There’s Us I had the same feeling. White Lines is a bit off the beaten track, but has always been special to me. In the first songwriting camp for Season 3 I heard I Don’t Know If I Should Stay (at that time it was called Away LOL)(seriously) and I got chills listening to it. Oh and I can’t forget how great I felt hearing both Temporary Insanity and Ultraviolet for the first time, I was convinced both of them were hits… in the current season there’ so many great songs, the hits just really keep on coming. 2AM is certainly a favourite, in fact I had to fight hard to get it in the series because for some reason the scriptwriters had trouble hearing what the song could be… Perfect is very special to me,because when we all heard it together at the songwriter camp BBQ, the first words out of my mouth at the end of the song, were something like “Wow, I love it, there’s almost a Sgt. Pepper feel to it” and that led to putting in Sgt. Peppers horns and the childrens’s choir into the song, and then recreating the homage to Sgt, Pepper’s album cover at the end of Act 2 of Episode 404.

ps I forgot to mention Where Does It Hurt, which is Alexz’s favourite. I loved the rooftop sequence, and it was so fun shooting it that night!!

Hierna werd gevraagd wat zijn favoriete seizoen van Instant Star was. Dit was zijn antwoord:
Season 1 was special, because so much was being created for the first time and the cast and crew were finding out each other’s strength’s and weaknesses… it was a time of tremendous growth and risk-taking, anything was possible, and I loved it.

I have to say though that hands down for me Season 4 has been my favourite, and as I keep saying, and I believe it, I think it is one of the best seasons of television every produced anytime, anywhere… I am SO proud of it, and so sad that we didn’t get a chance to do Season 5 and make that even better still!!!!

We’re so close to finishing the album, it’s hard to wait until it can get out there… We’ve completed ten of the tracks, and just need to write and record a couple more to round it out. There have been some amazing musicians who’ve been contributing, and everyone has been classic and cool. Just did a photo shoot today in NY with the lovely Gabrielle Revere and a super talented team. I love this city.. I’ve been living out of a suitcase and writing in the most amazing studios this past couple of weeks and I wouldn’t have it any other way.. so close.. a few more tracks away but the train is on it’s way.. Al x

Ze zegt dat 10 liedjes van het album helemaal af zijn en ze nu bezig is met het schrijven en opnemen van een paar nummers om het album af te maken. Ze heeft net een photoshoot gedaan met fotografe Gabrielle Revere (klik hier voor haar site, om een indruk te krijgen van wat voor foto’s ze maakt). Verder komt het erop neer dat ze een geweldige tijd heeft en dat het album bijna af is!
